Dave and I arrived a bit early and wandered through the apple farm where we were sure we had both come as kids on school field trips. Meghan and Adam arrived shortly after, with their big infectious smiles and full of energy and stories to tell. It was just a couple of days before the end of apple picking season, and so they let us through free of charge and we picked up a huge basket with big ambitions and rode the tractor out to the rows of apple trees. I stared blankly at the man who asked us what kind of apple we wanted to pick, but Meghan seemed a bit more knowledgeable about such things……….. I think Adam is far more likely to come home to freshly baked apple pie than Dave ever is! These two embody everything we love about photographing couples – they are loads of fun, they don’t take themselves too seriously, they are genuine and real, and they are up to trying anything. And I will forever remember the time where I randomly asked a guy (Adam) if he could juggle….. the answer was no……. and I said that he should give it a try. Dave says I’ve heard it’s all about the throw and on that day between the rows of trees, Adam was the best darn juggler I’ve seen in a long time.
As the sun started to set and the tractor came around to gather the few remaining families from the orchard, I secretly wished for more time to chase through leaves, eat apples, learn how to juggle, soak in the fall and hang out with these guys. Meghan, Adam, thanks so much for having us document your wonderful selves and we absolutely can’t wait for your wedding next summer – if this day was any indication, it is going to be a ball!
