Tag Archives: we like to travel While in Portland this past November, we had the pleasure of making a few new friends — among them, Steph and her two kids. Our friends that we were staying with put us in touch and we arranged to meet up at the local park for the afternoon, having only written a few emails back…  They showed us into a hallway off the main room, to one wall in particular that started on one end with photographs stuck to the wall. The photographs made their way through time from faded old black & white film from when Andrew’s grandfather first bought the land, leading right up to present day. There… whoa guys. so good. everything was *on* — the clouds, the color of the water, their cuteness, their outfits. and, most definitely, your skills. :) so impressed with this set. beautiful work guys … so lovely and soft and natural! bravo ;) …beautiful… I’ve been off work – and somewhat off the grid – for the past four days and I suddenly realized how much I missed you guys. So here I came – and saw this, and it is as if my soul just got filled to the brim with goodness. Your words, your imagery, the way the two of you are stitched into the fabric of every single frame you shoot. It’s just what I’ve been missing. Wonderful session – I love water and trees and rocks and I love the white dress and orange shorts and the way you captured these two people living a day in their lives. So. Perfectly. new favorite, new favorite! it’s hard to think that can happen when you guys so consistently deliver amazing sets … but this is definitely a new favorite. the light, the colors, the water. shooting by water is my favorite. and anything involving boats or a camp-like atmosphere. it clearly suits you as well. which is why we are friends meant to be. xx.  …..if that. Maybe more like 30 hours. We drove into the city in darkness on Friday night after having driven all day from Toronto. Last time we were there was 2.5 years ago, or, in other words, a lifetime. We stood watching the New Years Eve fireworks over the skyline from the banks of the…  One of our favourite places in the world… it’s where we renewed our vows to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary last year, and it’s a little corner of earth that feels like a bit of our own… and any beach where sweaters trump bathing suits is obviously ace too…. :) Just a few images… You guys. Seriously. I love every one of these! Beautiful. You guys are awesome and we miss you a lot. So good. This post was full of so much beauty. :) love seeing pics of you two not behind the camera :) looking good — not even a little rough. also, who is doing the cartwheel?! love that one so much! and, the tandem on the beach. perfect. great pictures :) my dad spent his summers as a youth, at Cannon Beach. his great-grandmother lived there in a little cabin, back before the town became more bustling. nice to see these.  “Monday morning Cedric shocked me with a renewal of our vows on Cannon Beach, Oregon. He picked out amazing white dresses for me and the girls (bought 8 for me… just in case). He found a lovely minister and the most amazing couple to take photographs. We walked out the door of the place he… These are some stunning works of art Jenn & Dave!! what an awesome romantic crazy awesome husband. and how lucky they are to have had you two photographing this event! these pictures are so calm and peaceful and i just love the tone of them. there’s not many original things i can say other than i absolutely think you guys documented this beautifully. There is so much magic and majesty in art – so much power in a photograph that is taken so remarkably well, that it breathes life into those who gaze upon it. You two have so much pure love in your hearts, so much joy, and warmth, and love,that it emanates within all that you show here. These photographs have left my eyes teary – as I imagine my husband and I, and our two little girls, frolicking in the cool Oregon sunshine, the laughter ricocheting off the rocks. You don’t just take pictures, or document moments, you must know that. The art that you two create is so much deeper than that. And is truly, utterly, remarkably inspiring. If I had to pick a most favourite wow it would be the family reflection image, that one knocked my socks off. Wow. mmm…one of my favorites from you guys ever. such a perfect fit that you were able to document this. my favorites are the very first frame and all the b&w’s. such nostalgic dreamy bliss. and i’m jealous you had cloudy weather, haha ;) These are STUNNING – i can’t pick a favourite at all – these are amazing. And I love Cannon beach – you captured it perfectly! Oh my word. For real – these are amazing. I love the simplicity of it all. The image of the four of them running all spaced similarly apart… it’s really jaw-dropping. Beautiful work, you guys! super sweet! I have been dying to find this post ever since you told us this story in Colorado. So full of beauty & life. |

athena - my heart is so full, you guys. watching this video brings me right back to that lovely little lodge and i can hear the laughter and the wind and the crunching of the snow. i have a smile a mile wide right now. i’m sooooo thankful (#soblessed) that i get to experience life with the two of you as my friends, and will always always treasure those three days in the mountains. thank you for helping me remember what it looked like through your eyes, and felt like through your hearts.
